Our Mutual Friend reading project

We are celebrating the 10th anniversary, in late 2015, of 19: Interdisciplinary Studies in the Long Nineteenth Century with a year of digital projects. 19 is an open-access, scholarly, refereed web journal dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary study in the long nineteenth century, based at Birkbeck, University of London.

Join us to read Dickens’s Our Mutual Friend in its original monthly instalments from May 2014 to November 2015, to coincide with the 150th anniversary of the novel’s original serialised publication (1864-1865). We are reading digitised versions of the original monthly parts and then commenting on them, month-by-month, on this blog. We welcome any and all comments, from academics, specialists, enthusiasts or anybody who has read something they enjoyed in Our Mutual Friend and wants to share their thoughts with us.
